Everywhere there is apathy. Nobody cares whether that which is preached is true or false. A sermon is a sermon whatever the subject; only, the shorter it is the better. - Charles Haddon Spurgeon
I have heard this quoted so many times before a sermon:
"Twenty is plenty; Nine is fine."
One thing I have noticed is that visiting more reformed type services there are no arbitrary time limits applied. An hour sermon is typical. Makes it worth the drive!

Sounds like someone modern speaking, instead of someone from Spurgeon's time

Kelli,
You are very correct.
Berean Wife,
When a preacher is faithfully preaching the Word, the longer the better in my book.
P.S. I think I'm behind on everything, too!!!
